What's the Happs? Christmas Already? Wha??

Man oh man, it has been SOOoooo long since I've posted anything here. I, like many of you, have been so busy these past few months. If I weren't ethically opposed to human cloning, I would gladly sign up to have myself cloned. "Two or three more of me would be great. Thanks, doc!"

I hope you have all had a great couple of months; with the Thanksgiving and now Christmas holidays practically enveloping - no DROWING us - with extended To-Do lists, it's no wonder people always say they need vacations from their vacations.

I have been busy editing in order to get client movies delivered to them in time for Christmas family parties and so forth. It's been hectic and BARELY manageable, but I'm plugging away. There are some folks that will have to wait just a little longer to get their movies, but I think it's my job to make a great movie, not just one that arrives in the nick of time. I hope you agree with that assessment.

Anyway, I want to wish you all a great Christmas and holiday season as well as a terrific and safe New Year celebration. I will return in full force in 2010 and I look forward to re-connecting with all of you. :-)

Jules Cafe

Last week I had the privelege of hanging out with my photographer friend, Jules Bianchi at the grand opening of her new studio in Montclair, CA. Jules is a well-known L.A.-based photographer that has done a ton of work in the San Francisco Bay Area and travels up here frequently. But now that she's opened a NorCal studio, she's *officially* a NorCal photographer, in my book!

You will learn more about Jules Cafe and her other endeavors in an upcoming episode of Take-a-Look Tuesdays.

Blu Domain Photographer of the Year

Holy smokes!

Two of my best photographer friends have both been nominated as BluDomain's Photographer of the Year! That is so ridiculously outstanding that I don't know what to do about the information. I feel like I'm friends with celebrities now! hahaha!

The funniest thing about them both being nominated is that I see how they both are constantly seeing the same prospective brides and even their brides have the tough choice of choosing between the two of them all the time! Now the tough choice is placed on the shoulder of the voters. Frankly, I don't know what I'm going to do!

Jen and Augie, congratulations! You guys deserve every bit of recognition that you get - you work hard, you're passionate and you guys are super talented. Good luck!

Preston Castle Photoshoot, Ione, CA

Last week, I was invited by a group of photographer friends of mine to join them on a photoshoot in Ione, CA. Yeah. I didn't know where that was either. I Googled it and found it to be just east of Boufou, Egypt; in the middle of Nowheresville.

I shot a couple of photos for fun, but mostly I was there to film the adventures as they unfolded. (That's kind of what I do!) So here's the resulting video... part one...

San Francisco is Like My Second Home

One of the cool things about working for yourself is that you can set your own hours and it's likely you can cut down your commute to almost nothing. I work from my home studio so my commute consists of walking down a flight of stairs.

But lately, I've been spending so much time in San Francisco, it feels like my second home!

Then, on Wednesday, The Knot had a gala event at the SF Design Center Galleria and I was invited to be the official videographer at the event. (The fabulous Michelle of MB Wedding Design was the selected coordinator of the event! Great job, MB!) While there, of course, I was able to meet up with many old friends and meet some new ones! I snapped just a couple of pictures; here are some of them.

Scarlett Lillian Vegas Nightshoot

Florida-based celebrity photographer, Scarlett Lillian (you can see her Take-a-Look Tuesday interview HERE) had a Night Shoot Workshop in Las Vegas not too long ago and I was there to capture the action!
