A Place to Learn

One of the things I have been working on that has been keeping me super busy, is a video series I'm doing for Wedding 360.

Wedding 360's Online Academy is a resource for Designers and Planners who want to take their businesses from successful to stratospheric. We've culled together some of the nation's best wedding-industry minds and brought them to anyone who has a desire to learn and grow.

SF Dream Wedding is a Reality!

Friday, May 14th.

To most, it's just another Friday to be counted as the start of a relaxing weekend. TGIF, right? We love Fridays but for most of us, it's nothing to get too excited about.

But to Vanessa and Mike, this Friday will be a life-changing dream-come-true moment for them because they're getting married. And they're not getting married in some routine fashion, either. They're the well-deserving recipients of the 2010 San Francisco Dream Wedding Giveaway.

Valued at over $100,000 dollars, Mike and Vanessa's wedding will be amazing.

 

Vanessa met Mike after graduating from the Air Force Academy. Mike has spent a lot of time stationed overseas while Vanessa battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma at their home in Wisconsin. You can read more about them HERE.

I am very excited to be a part of this amazing philanthropic event and to give to a couple who have almost nothing left but their love for one another. Of course, photos and videos will be forthcoming. But for now, just be happy for the deserving couple.

The Academy for Planners + Designers

I feel honored. Privileged. Totally overwhelmed.

I had the pleasure of being a sponsor for the Wedding 360 Academy of Planners + Designers event held in San Francisco over the better part of this past week. I don't want to spend too much time talking about how inspirational and generally awesome this event was because so many other people - most of whom are much more eloquent than I - have already recapped the event in their blogs.

But I just want to say THANK YOU to Jean and Jubilee, the founders of Wedding 360; their incredible team, and for all the attendees and supporters who made it possible. I'm so proud to have witnessed the birth of an incredible new event - one that will be a force in the wedding and event planning industry for decades to come...

WPPI 2010

Like several dozen other event filmmaker friends (and about 11,000 photographers,) I will be spending the weekend and part of next week in Las Vegas, Nevada for the annual WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) Conference.

My email response during this time might be slower than usual and/or written via iPhone :-) Please bear with me until my return to the studio on Thursday, March 11th.

The Academy for Planners + Designers

As some of you know, I participated in the recent Wedding University event that served as a crash course for brides and grooms on how to plan a wedding. For the vast majority of brides, the wedding they're planning is the first they've ever planned. So an institution/event like Wedding U serves as invaluable for them to learn the ropes.

In a couple of weeks, however, I will be filming a new event - also created and hosted by Jean Marks and Jubilee Lau of Wedding 360 - called The Academy for Planners + Designers.

 

This event is going to be amazing. It's geared toward event coordinators and designers and if you are a coordinator or designer, it will, undoubtedly, be one of the most informative workshop events you ever attend. With a speaker lineup that reads like a who's who of the wedding and event planning/design industry, the registration fee for the three-day event (with an optional fourth day) is positively a steal!
