It's been nine days since my last post. Nine days of sleeplessness and nine days of patting myself on the back for having the foresight to order ceramic tiles throughout the downstairs of our house. Puppy-owners and ex-puppy-owners will appreciate my self-congratulations.
Yes, my excuse for not having kept up with my blog (or even my Twittertweets) is a 10 1/2 week-old Chocolate Labrador named, Cade (pronounced "Katie"). As much as Cade has been a blessing and welcomed addition to our family, saying that she's been retraining us (read: me) to be more patient, more disciplined, more responsible, more tolerant, and more forgiving is basically a euphemism for "she's driving us (read: me) crazy!"
Cade went through a bout of puppy 'tummy troubles' and worrying about her has been akin to worrying about our own kids when they've been sick. Of course, the discussion surrounding a sick child isn't centered on whether or not we'd give up the kid if the doctor's bill exceeds $800-$1000, so the analogy ends there. Thankfully, with a change in diet, Cade got better and is "regular" again. Feel free to file this under the "TMI" (too much information!) category.
But aside from a lack of R.E.M. sleep and mopping the ground twice a day (the latter, not so much anymore. Cade is pretty much 90% potty trained) I've been happily editing away! Promo videos, fashion shoot videos, wedding videos, legacy videos, corporate videos, and personal videos are all I've been working on.
And at the risk of this post sounding too self-aware and overly apologetic, I want to let you all know that I'll be catching up with my blogging! (I've said this as much for you as for me. 'Nothing like putting something down in writing to force commitment!)
