One of the things I have been working on that has been keeping me super busy, is a video series I'm doing for Wedding 360.
Wedding 360's Online Academy is a resource for Designers and Planners who want to take their businesses from successful to stratospheric. We've culled together some of the nation's best wedding-industry minds and brought them to anyone who has a desire to learn and grow.
Why use MSV Save the Date Movies? The reasons are bountiful!
Because movies are awesome - and starring in your own movie is doubly awesome!
Because movies are the wave of the future! (You know YouTube but there's no such thing as YouCards.)
Because it saves trees! I can post your video on your own special website and you can simply email your guests the URL without downing a single tree!
Because it saves on postage - which saves on fossil fuels. Do you hate the earth? >:-(
Because it's different than the save the date cards your girlfriends got for their wedding last year (which makes your rad!)
Because it saves money! At $550 per video, it can be cheaper than many Save the Date cards you'd get online (don't forget postage!)
Because if you use Save the Date Cards instead of Save the Date Movies, you have to say "STD" instead of the less noxious "SDM" :-) hahaha! Just kidding!
So what does a Save the Date Movie look like? Here's one that I did for Thomas (of Thomas John Events) and his lovely fiancée, Melissa. (Yes, astute, readers! You're right - it's from my previous post here! Congratulations for remembering!)
I'll be at at the Bay Area Professional Videographer Association tonight speaking on the merits of the Canon 5D MkII. If you're in the area (Santa Clara) or if you've always wanted to know about the MkII and how it can help improve your business, you should totally come!

Saturday was the first time I filmed at Hacienda de las Flores, a beautiful estate property in Moraga, CA.
The weather ws perfect; not too hot, not at all chilly. The light was stunning; bright sun but we were in the shade 90% of the time. The couple was gorgeous; Phil and Jen were perfect, fun-loving and destined for one another.
Here is a super short trailer I made of some of the shots I got from the wedding.
[for industry folks and tech geeks: the footage was shot entirely on my new Canon 5D mkII, edited with Canopus Edius Pro 3, no color correction. All the clips are straight from the cam.]
I'm currently slaving away on a new website and a new demo video for 2009! I will be launching it this Sunday... Stay tuned for the official unveiling!
Here's a real-life account of the dialogue I had with my blog last night:
Me: Hey, blog. What's goin' down, vato? Blog: ... Me: What's wrong? Blog: Nothing. Me: Don't tell me, "nothing" - clearly you're upset. Blog: Do you even care about me anymore? Me: What?! Blog: You used to pay so much attention to me. To the tune of four posts a week -- but lately I feel like... I feel like ... Me: What? Blog: ...you ... you just haven't spent a lot of time with me lately, that's all. Me: What are you talking about? I'm sitting here every day for hours on end. Blog: But you're never really paying attention to ME. Me: I've been working OK? If you want me to stop working, there would be no reason to even keep you around. Blog: ! Me:... sorry... I didn't mean that... Blog: I don't even know who you are anymore. Me: Look; I said I'm sorry. Blog: Just go do what you have to do. Me: Don't be like that. I've been editing client wedding videos; working on important marketing materials; a new video to launch my proposal videos; a brand new 'legacy video' feature; and a whole bunch of other things. Plus, I need to spend time with my family for the holidays! Not to mention the fact that I've hardly been sleeping because of the new puppy and I haven't touched a Playstation 3 controller for like three months! Blog: Excuses excuses. Me: Ugh. I can't talk to you right now. Andrew's Fantasy Football Team: For what it's worth, Blog. I feel the same way you do.
